Mulvantrai Himmatlal Mankad was an Indian good cricketer. He well knew as Vinoo Mankad. He was born on 12th April, 1917 in Jamnagar, Gujarat. He was perfect right handed batsman and slow left arm orthodox bowler. Mankad made his test premiere against the England in the year 1946 and his last test was against the West Indies in the year 1959. His top and highest test score two hundred thirty one runs and five centuries.
Mankad was played first class cricket for his domestic Indian major team Western India, Nawanagar, Hindus, Bombay, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Bengal and Saurashtra. He was played forty four test matches for India and two hundred thirty three first class matches during his cricket career.
Mankad made some remarkable innings in the cricket history, taking eight wickets giving just fifty two runs against the England in the first inning and in the second inning taking four wickets giving just fifty three runs. Mankad came to be one of the three cricketers to have batted in every position in his team infect from the first to the last order batsman during his cricket test career.
