Dev was right handed batsman and right arm fast medium bowler. He was valued as one of the greatest cricket players and all rounder for all time. He captained India winning cricket world cup of the year 1983.

Dev made his test beginning and one day international debut against Pakistan in year 1978. He made his last one day international debut against West Indies in year 1994. He was famously known from his nickname The Haryana Hurricane.

Dev is an only cricketer has taken highest wickets in both test and in one day international. He has taken four hundred wickets and scored more than five thousand runs in test cricket.
