He was born on 3rd July, 1980 in Jalandhar, Punjab. He is India’s most successful off spinner and an attacking bowler.

He has an ability to vary his length and pace and turn it to another direction too. He made his test entrance against Australia in year 1998 when he was just eighteen year old.

Singh was born in middle class Punjabi family. He is only son grew up with five sisters of Sardar Sardev a businessman.

Harbhajan was an option to inherit the family business but his father encouraged him that he concentrates on his cricket career.

He made his one day international debut against New Zealand in year 1998. He has played seventy seven test matches including a top score of sixty six runs and one hundred ninety matches including a top score of forty six runs.

Harbajan proved to collect thirty two wickets in just three tests against Australia in year 2001. He is the second highest wicket taker in among the best spinners and in Test history.

He has taken three hundred thirty wickets in test matches in which best bowling figure taking eight wickets in just eighty four runs.

According to an interview, his ambition to be a all rounder player in cricket. He is one of the superior spinners of the Indian cricket team.

Singh was adjourned from the one day international cricket team by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for slapping Indian cricketer and Kings XI pace bowler S Sreesanth after a match of DLF Indian Premier League Series.
