Hemu Adhikari

Hemchandra (Hemu) Ramachandra Adhikari was an Indian regular first class cricketer and was a coach of the Indian national cricket team. He was born on 31st July, 1919 in Pune, Maharashtra. He was primarily a great right handed batsman and occasional fine leg spin bowler. Adhikari made his test beginning against Australia in year 1947. He was an exceptional cricketer who led the Indian cricket team as a captain in one test match.

 

He had played twenty one test matches scoring eight hundred seventy two runs including a top score of one hundred fourteen runs and one hundred fifty two first class matches scoring eight thousand six hundred eighty three runs during his cricket career. After retired from first class cricket he took cricket coaching.
