Datta Gaekwad

Dattajirao Krishnarao Gaekwad is an Indian former first class cricketer and former test cricketer of Indian national cricket team. He was born on 27th October, 1928 in Vadodara, India. He is related to Baroda royal family and his father Anshuman Gaekwad was an Indian opener batsman. He was right handed batsman and right arm medium, Occasional leg spin bowler. He has played in eleventh test matches for India and one hundred ten first class matches during his cricket career.

Gaekwad achieved three hundred fifty runs including one century in test matches. In his early life, he played for Bambay University and Maharaja Sayaji University in Baroda. He was also captained in Indian national cricket team in year 1959. He made over the three thousand one hundred runs in Ranji Trophy including fourteen centuries and highest scored two hundred forty nine runs against Maharashtra.
